When you first had the idea for your business, you knew you had something of great value that people would want to purchase. You knew you could make more money at it building the business directly and you knew you were tired of having someone else tell you how to work your expertise.
Starting the business seemed easy. You already knew who would purchase from you so you began approaching those people to hire you for your expertise or product. You landed your first sale/contract, and then your second.
This felt easy until it came time for you to find more clients and manage more sales and deliveries.
Now you have to hire, do your bookkeeping and taxes, schedule, manage projects, understand regulations and privacy policies, have a marketing program, and on, and on… I bet sometimes you find yourself thinking, “Why can’t I just do what I love?”
Because, unless you love business, what you love is only a piece of your business and doing the other 80% of the work is boring, hard, complicated, time-consuming, overwhelming, and simply not the reason you started this business in the first place.
