Hmm. Bring in a few other players and suddenly we were going full throttle with big plans and ambitious goals.
Here we are the morning after the event with a sold out crowd of 500 people and a total buzz about the evening. Not only that, we raised $25,000 for the United Way.
How did this happen? Well, when you pull the right people together and have a shared goal of raising funds for the United Way Halton Hamilton, then magic clearly happens.
On a day-to-day basis, we all run women’s business organizations, and yes, you could say we are competitors, but for this event, we’ve been a collaborative team, learning more about each other and respecting the skill set each brought to the project.
As one of the members pointed out, like the wine bottles we all donated for a prize, each one of us has a different flavour and just as no one wine is better than another, we complimented each other.
The panel were amazing and authentic, having a genuine conversation about women and leadership. The marketplace a buzz with over 50 vendors which combined with food from Taste NUVO and the wine, made for a pleasant way to do some retail therapy.
Are we going to do this again? You bet. With the lessons learned this year, it can only be even better next year.
